what is difference between ACL 199.172.4.0 0.0.11.0 and ACL 199.172.4.0 0.0.11.255?
R1 and BB1 is running RIP, BB1 advertising 196.17.1.0/24 - 196.17.16.0/24 16 routes, on R1, I use distribute-list in with ACL standard 99 196.17.4.0 0.0.11.0, got the result: 4.0/24, 5.0/24, 6.0/24 and 12.0/24,13.0/24,14.0/24,15.0/24 in R1 route table, but when I change the ACL 99 to 196.17.4.0 0.0.11.255, I got the same result, so which one is correct? which one is the best practice? Thanks for any input…
