VPNSM throughput per packet lenght (rfc2544)
Hi does anyone have throughput figures on a per packet length basis for the VPN Service module (SPA-IPSEC-2G) for the 6500 / 7600. The data sheet only specifies 2.5Gbit/s for 1400 Bytes and 1.6Gbit/s for Imix traffic. I assume these figures are “marketing figures”, which means that they add throughput for both directions (the internal connection between the 6500 switch and the VPNSM is 1 Gbit/s in and 1 Gbit/s out ). Performance in pps would be helpful, as the module has to encrypt on a per packet basis.
