trunk ports
1. they can even be g0/0 - g0/3
2. You can shut the ports or make them access port if do not want to make them trunk ports. This all depends on the entire task’s wordings.

Hi,
In all IE labs, physical connections betweens all 4 switches are on interface range [fa0/13 - fa0/21]
1/ should we assume that in the exam, switches will be connected the same way, ie. with interface fa0/13 up to fa0/21 ?
2/ if not, when we are asked to configure some trunk port, and at the same time ensure that “other ports never become trunk ports” (IE vol II, lab 1), should we use “sh cdp nei” to determine what interfaces link the switches together ?
thanks,
Navid
