throughput query on cisco 3845

First, you always have to quantify, then measure.
Here are examples of 871 router:
Scenario 1 Input parameters: Packet size: 1500 Bytes L2 Protocol: Ethernet Configuration: Routing only Throughput achieved: 188 Mbps
Scenario 2 Input parameters: Packet size: 1500 Bytes L2 Protocol: Ethernet Configuration: Routing, Statefull firewall, hQoS with parent shaper, PAT, IPSec Tunnel Throughput achieved: 3 Mbps
The difference could be staggering. And if you won’t use ethernet but other technology, be prepared to pay more CPU cycles (ie even more reduced throughput) So back to your question, what were you asking again?
