You may use some monitoring tools. Freeware MRTG will give you the utilization statistics. Also, you may try Netflow Analyzer and that is capable of giving you utilization as well as traffic details. (protocol, port, ip etc)
Other possible way to look at interface status..those counters may not look very nice.

I would like to know if there is a way to measure the throughput of a Catalyst 6500 other than making a mirroring so that all the ports go to one port and see how much traffic it has.
Is there a CLI command for accomplish this goal ? or a soft ?
