I am sure that It does summarization at discontinuous network boundaries and not for subnets on major net class. Lab it, it will clear your doubt. Did you lab it to find out? I think if you do it yourself a couple of things will happen:
1. You will know for a fact.
2. You can put this puppy to rest for now on.
If you rely on others, you may still feel uncertain later in your studies.
