Proctor lab Voice racks / workbook questions

Scott, I suffer so much with IP Expert. SO I dont believe what they said. ATA will take less than a min to get the IP address. The best person who has helped me a lot to reach at a level where I am now is Tarun Pahuja and Brad from cciebootcamp. I can do all IP expert lab now with no problem but no one from IP Expert has helped me. If you ask some simple questions or you will tell them that your workbook have some errors they will try to remove you from there study group. I SUFFER THE SAME PAIN WHEN I HAVE STARTED THE WORKBOOK OF IPEXPERT. I DONT BELEIVE THEM AT ALL. Regards J P Singh

I worked on the Voice rack last night for the second time and now have a couple questions:
1. What does it take to get the ATA to grab an IP address so I can get the thing registered? I put the Cat port into voice vlan like I did the 7940. 7940 gets IP and gets registered but even after a power on / off I still can’t get the ATA to get an IP address. What am I missing. I spend an hour banging my head.
2. What is the best method to get through the Preparation workbook? I started the first time from the beginning. then last night I was going to start on section 5 and it says you need to have sections 1, 2, and 3 done in order to do section 5. is it that I should be able to do Section 1-16 in a single 7.75 hour time period? How do I use my time best? Am I missing something? are configs somewhere that can just be uploaded to get me to a certain part so I can continue to get the later sections done?
I have to admit they may seem like simple questions but I’m just starting the CCIE process.
TIA
Scott
