Netflow and IP Traffic Export

JB -
Netflow is a higher end service that is in the IOS, but supported on the higher-end routers (7xxx). Also, even though it is the IOS, (the documentation states, that you need a separate license (so I am sure this wouldn’t be covered in the lab). It does a lot more than the IP traffic-export options, which is supported on the IOS (out of the box). The Netflow includes not only the Network application and user monitoring, but also Denial of Service and Security Analysis, Accounting and Billing, Traffic Engineering and NetFlow Data Storage and Data Mining.

Hi Forum, I have been looking up some of the newer 12.3T features and came across Netflow Input Filters and also IP Traffic Export. They both seem to allow data to be gathered on a particular port and their packets (all or a random one-in-X) be sent to some other port. How are the two features similar/different? From what I see they offer rather similar functionality.
Cheers,
JB
