Flapping Gig Ports

On a 3750 12s running IOS 12.2.44 we are seeing two gigabit interfaces, 1/0/1 and 1/0/6, flapping down and up repeatedly for a total duration of 3 seconds. Gigabit 1/0/1 was half of a redundant link to our dual 6500 core and when it flapped caused packet loss so we went ahead and shut down 1/0/1 but 1/0/6 still is showing the issue. Logs from the 3560-48 connected to 1/0/6 do not show a port flap when the 3750 reports the flap. We have reloaded the switch and changed out the gbics on both sides of the connection to gigabit 1/0/1 but the problem still occurs.
why is that? is there a walk-around?
Thanks group
