AIP-SSM password recovry [7:117284]


We just did this, here are your options 1. Login as service account, su to root, then execute the “passwd cisco” command to change the password. You would have had to create this.
2. If you don’t have a service account configured or have no access to that, then you’ll need to reimage the IPS module. This will install a new system image on the IPS module and then you’ll be able to log in with the default cisco/cisco. After that, you’ll need to change the password and then you can run “setup” to configure the module. Here’s the instructions for installing a system image:

You will need a network cable attached to the management interface of the IPS into your network.
