Some more humour.. I wonder what happened to Hiriam :)

Sadiq. . Thanks for that. I really needed a good chuckle. But, you know, he has a point. The MCSE is two exams, and the IE lab is ‘open book’. . . And, why is Cisco still using DOS???. . . Windows is so much more stable. […]

regarding the hardware of the CCIE voice

Amin, The 6500 is serving two roles in the voice network. It’s providing Ethernet switching and PSTN connectivity for your main site. For Ethernet switching you could just use any Ethernet switch you have laying around assuming it supports trunking and VLANs. For PSTN connectivity you could use a regular router similar […]

Network statement

Li,
IGP network statements are used to specify interfaces on which to run, and not networks to advertise. The only difference between your two statements is that the first specifies a single interface. For the second, consider a case where you’ve subnetted 10.10.10.0/24 into 10.10.10.0/25 and 10.10.10.128/25 and put an […]

Network statement

The second is really more like a range. It will add any interface that falls within that range. Just like “network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 1″ will add all the routers interfaces to area 1. There isn’t necessary a best way it is all preference. The only gotcha is on PPP interfaces […]

Network statement

Hi experts What is the difference between these two network statements under routing process?
network 10.10.10.10 0.0.0.0 area 0
Network 10.10.10.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
After a search in Google and I understand the first statement says only the particular interface will participate in routing process The second says entire network will participate in routing process.
My question is what […]
