Frame Question

yea tru, u shldnt have any problems if u configure it that way. i think this problem is somewhat related to dynamic mapings or possibly bugs. Did u try clearing the arp and then rebooting ??

Frame Question

Yes. As soon I have a chance I’m going to try 12.3 (12.2T on the routers now). Actually, I dont recall having this issue before I updated to 12.2(15)T17.
For a sanity check I should not have a in-arp issue with the following, correct?
1) shut 2) encap frame 3) no frame inv 4) other config (ip, […]

Did you look over this link?
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/104/26.html
Also without any details of your network its just going to be a guess as to what the exact problem was.

IPV6 far end address

If have to run RIP, then enable RIP on the local side and then: show ipv6 rip database Otherwise I think “deb ipv6 packets” will do the trick for OSPF hellos. Sabrina

IPV6 far end address

It depends if the link-local host address is the same as the global unicast/site-local host address. For Ethernet you can “debug ipv6 packets” and send an all-hosts multicast (equivalent to IPv4 255.255.255.255) like the following:
R2#show ipv6 int brief FastEthernet0/0 [up/up] […]

IPV6 far end address

Group,
How can we obtain far end IPV6 address? If the media is Ethernet and Frame relay. For example for frame relay, if the task does not give us the link local address for the far end? For Ethernet, I am just trying to figure out how we can use the IPV6 tools.

OSPF Database Explanation

Hi Victor,
No I am not running Frame Relay. This is all ethernet broadcast and though the doc does specify that it pertains to broadcast network type as well it also says that the routers in question did not have the route in their routing table. In my case I am seeing the route in the routing […]
